The Australian Cricket fans might be a little worried about the long break that their team has had in the World Cup 2015.
The Aussies had played their first game on the opening day of the World Cup versus the arch rivals England, but, after that, they have not got a chance to step onto the field.
Their second game versus Bangladesh was scheduled on Saturday at Gabbatoire, but, because of heavy rain, it was abandoned and the points were distributed equally between the two teams.
Now, they have to face the Kiwis in the coming weekend. That’s probably the only World Cup match that they are going to play away from home.
There will be plenty of support for the Kangaroos there as well though as New Zealand is not far away from Australia and a lot of Aussies will be making their way across the border to watch the game.
Sometimes, the break affects your rhythm as a player especially when the tournament is in full swing and you see the players of all the other teams playing and here you are out of the action for such a long duration. It makes you slightly restless.
Also, it gets you a little rusty. Having hits in the nets is one thing, but, the game situation is entirely different.
But, the Aussies happen to be mentally very strong and they know how to switch on when required.
New Zealand would be a tough proposition though given how balanced a team they have become over the last couple of years. People are tipping them to make the World Cup final for the first time.
Saturday’s game might actually be a dress rehearsal for the final. Who knows?
The match would start at 2 Am British Standard Time.
